The most common symptoms of vascular dementia are:
- confusion and memory problems
- difficulty paying attention and focusing
- being easily agitated or upset
- unsteady gait
- difficulty controlling urination or needing to urinate frequently
Risk factors:
age
history of stroke or heart attack
hardened arteries
diabetes, lupus, high blood pressure may all be factors
Treatment: if caught early can make it more manageable but damage is irreversable
Life expectancy is shortened
